Reading and playing games with class 2NB
January 19, 2012At today’s INSPiRE workshop parents from 2NB and their children joined Miss Brewster and Mrs Davis for a morning of fun, whilst at the same time learning how they can work in partnership with school to help their child at home with their reading.
As the slides below show everyone had a busy time sharing books and asking questions about the text and playing word games together. The comments from the parents show how much they enjoyed coming into school and learning alongside their child.Read what they found the most interesting about today.

“Interaction with my child and understanding the requirements needed to progression”.
“Finding out what levels your child is currently at and finding out more questioning techniques”.
“What kind of questions to ask when reading the book”.
These children also enjoyed it too.
“Me and my mum read a book. The book was called Charlie and Lola and the my mum had questions, she said,”Which bit did you like ?” and I said,” I like the end bit”.
“My dad read books with me. He played a word game and then Snakes and Ladders and another was a difficult game and another was an easy game and then we read another book and then it was break time”.
“I was playing Snakes and Ladders to get our vocabulary better with my mum. I read a book with my mum and she asked questions about the book, about a magician and a dragon”.
“I read 3 books with my dad. We had a little game, if you know the words you have to roll the dice”.
Thank you to Miss Brewster and Mrs Davis for today’s workshop. Why don’t you leave a comment in the box below and tell them how much fun you and you child had today.
