6EB’s Inspire Workshop

Frog family Workshop

A morning and afternoon of fun at the Frog family workshop today with Mr Walby!

Story telling came alive as the children joined in with Mr Walby as he told the story ‘Whatever Next’. Lots of everyday items turned into props for the story. Children collaged bear masks, practised their colouring skills and made yummy sandwiches to eat at the picnic at the end of the workshop and were able to use the story telling props to retell the story to their parents.

An enormous thank you to Mr Walby for sharing today’s workshop with the Frog families. Everyone had a great time as some of the comments below show.

“Lovely seeing the children acting it out and the variety of activities on offer.”

“I love that the children get involved in telling the story using everyday things to make it more interesting.”

” It was great to see the children role playing the story, this is invaluable in aiding children to comprehend the sequences of the story. Great work!”

Well done nursery for involving so many of your families in sharing with them how to make storytime at home a fun and engaging time.
Today was the last INSPiRE workshop of the school year and the following comment was written today by a parent attending the Frog workshop
“I really would like to say a big Thank you to the teachers for working so hard with our kids. Thanks to Robin Hood Academy for building a successful future for our children”.
What complimentary words to end the year with and reflective of many of the comments written throughout the year.

Fun at the Butterfly family group workshop.

A fantastic turnout today at the Butterfly family group reading  workshop. Everyone was busy having fun exploring lots of different activities, which included making sandwiches for a picnic at the end!

The session began with Miss Fletcher reading the story Whatever next! The children could all share in the story telling and act out the different parts! It was very exciting seeing everyone getting dressed up!

Some fab comments from the parents about the session and what they found the most useful.

” The whole session was very well planned with a wide range of activities linked to the book. It was wonderful having the picnic at the end- the children loved this”

“Encouraging children to do the tasks themselves.”

“Thank you for this opportunity, it is a great opportunity to further develop school – home partnerships”

An enormous THANK YOU  to Miss Fletcher for all her had work in making today’s workshop so enjoyable for everyone.

Next week is the turn of the Frog family group with Mr Walby to invite their parents to work alongside them in school,  it will also be the last INSPiRE workshop of the school year.
